A New Chapter Begins
If you’re a current or future client of Faye Smith Agency or Primp & Proper, I wanted to share an important update about why I am moving from Vancouver to Kelowna—and what this means for your bookings and services.
As of April 9, I will officially be moving out of my Olympic Village loft in Vancouver. On April 10, my family and I will be settling into our new home in Rose Valley, West Kelowna.
This has been a long time coming… and a deeply meaningful decision for our family.
Final Vancouver Appointments
I will be taking a limited number of clients in Vancouver until April 6, which will be my final working day before the move.
After that, I will only be available in Vancouver on select dates when I’m back in town.

My husband, Brandon Hart Photography, and I have always loved the Okanagan. We first seriously considered moving from Vancouver to Kelowna back in early 2020—but like so many others, our plans shifted when COVID hit.
At the time, relocating felt too risky. Our businesses—and the events industry as a whole—were facing massive uncertainty.
The years that followed were incredibly volatile.
As a wedding hair and makeup artist in Vancouver, my work is directly tied to events. Between shutdowns, reduced guest counts, economic shifts, and industry slowdowns, our businesses were deeply impacted.
The Hardest Seasons Behind the Scenes
In 2022, we welcomed our daughter—while also managing the aftermath of three years of postponed weddings.
That meant fulfilling over 350 wedding contracts in one season.
I worked throughout my pregnancy, went into labour early, and returned to work just four weeks later.
Shortly after, I was diagnosed with postpartum OCD and anxiety.
It was one of the most challenging times of my life—trying to balance motherhood, my mental health, and running a business.
There were moments where things felt incredibly heavy.
Times where the business struggled.
Times where I had to simplify everything just to keep going.
Times where I wasn’t able to pay myself for months while ensuring my team was taken care of.
But we kept going.
From Setback to Fresh Start
Just as things began to feel like they were recovering in early 2025, we faced another major setback.
In September, my husband’s photography studio—and many of our belongings in storage—were lost in a fire.
It was devastating.
But oddly, it also became a turning point.
It strengthened our desire to move forward with the life we had been dreaming about for years.
We rebuilt, prepared our home, and after months of showings—we officially sold in February 2026.
And then… we found our new home in West Kelowna.
We are beyond excited for this fresh start.
