Vancouver To Okanagan Move

Vancouver To Okanagan Move

From Vancouver Loft to West Kelowna Dream Home: Our Biggest Family & Business Chapter Yet

There are certain moments in life that feel surreal while you’re living them — and this Vancouver to Okanagan move has absolutely been one of them.

After years of building our businesses, raising our daughter in Vancouver, and navigating one of the most emotionally challenging years of our lives, our family officially moved from our downtown Vancouver loft into a beautiful five-bedroom home in West Kelowna.

Honestly… it still doesn’t feel real.

This wasn’t just a move. It was a complete life transition.

For those of you who have followed my journey over the years, you know that I’ve spent nearly two decades building my career in the beauty industry as a professional makeup artist, hairstylist, salon owner, educator, and founder of Faye Smith Agency and Primp & Proper. Vancouver has been such an important part of that journey, and it always will be. Our Vancouver to Okanagan move was not an easy decision.

At the same time, my husband Brandon and I started dreaming about a different lifestyle for our family — one that offered more space, nature, calmness, and balance while still allowing us to continue growing our businesses across Canada.

Why We Moved to West Kelowna

West Kelowna immediately felt different.

The slower pace, beautiful lake views, wineries, family-oriented lifestyle, and sense of community made us fall in love with the Okanagan almost instantly. After spending years in downtown Vancouver, the idea of having a home where our daughter could run around freely, play in the garden, and grow up surrounded by nature felt incredibly meaningful to us.

This Vancouver to Okanagan move also came after an extremely difficult season in our lives following a devastating fire that deeply impacted our family. Going through something like that changes your perspective on everything.

Home suddenly becomes more than a place.

It becomes safety.
Peace.
Healing.
A fresh start.

Moving into this new home feels emotional in ways I can barely explain.

Growing Faye Smith Agency Across Canada & the Okanagan

One of the biggest questions I’ve been getting is:

“Are you still working in Vancouver?”

The answer is absolutely YES.

Faye Smith Agency continues to provide luxury mobile hair and makeup services throughout Vancouver, the Lower Mainland, Toronto, and destinations across Canada. Primp & Proper salon in downtown Vancouver is also continuing operations as normal with our amazing team of beauticians.

What’s changing is that I’m now also expanding further into Kelowna and the Okanagan region.

I’m incredibly excited to connect with more Okanagan brides, beauty lovers, photographers, local businesses, wineries, and event professionals while continuing to grow everything we’ve built over the years.

This next chapter feels aligned in every possible way.

Behind the Scenes of the Move

I documented the entire experience in a brand new YouTube vlog, including:

  • Packing up our Vancouver loft
  • Moving day chaos
  • Emotional family moments
  • Business transitions
  • Entrepreneurship realities
  • Motherhood during major life changes
  • Settling into our West Kelowna home
  • And the excitement of starting fresh

This vlog is one of the most personal videos I’ve ever shared.

It’s messy, emotional, exciting, chaotic, and very real.

If you’ve ever dreamed about changing your life, rebuilding after hardship, moving cities, growing a business while raising a family, or simply starting over — I think you’ll really connect with this one.
