Okanagan Wedding Hair Makeup: Four Beautiful Weddings from My First Few Months in the Okanagan

After nearly two decades working as a professional hair and makeup artist in Vancouver, moving to West Kelowna this spring felt both exciting and bittersweet.

For 18 years, I built my career in Vancouver’s beauty and wedding industry, working with thousands of brides, celebrities, brands, photographers, and clients from every cultural background imaginable. In 2009, I founded Faye Smith Agency, which has since grown into one of Western Canada’s leading bridal hair and makeup teams, serving weddings throughout British Columbia, Vancouver Island, Whistler, the Fraser Valley, Toronto, and beyond.

In April 2026, my family and I made the move from Vancouver to beautiful West Kelowna. These first few weddings have reminded me exactly why I love this industry so much—every bride has a unique story, personal style, and vision for her wedding day.

Heidi’s Elegant Lake Country Wedding

50th Parallel Estate Winery | May 23, 2026

Heidi’s wedding was especially meaningful because she was referred by one of my longtime clients in Vancouver, and now also Kelowna.

Throughout the planning process, I visited Heidi at her Dilworth home in Kelowna for two bridal trials. Having multiple appointments allowed us to fine-tune every detail and create a look that felt completely authentic to her.

For makeup, Heidi chose a soft plum smoky eye paired with flawless skin that balanced matte and radiant finishes beautifully. We completed the look with a neutral lip that kept the focus on her eyes while still feeling timeless and bridal.

For hair, Heidi drew inspiration from a bridal style she had loved. We created a textured high bun featuring tightly defined curls, a deep side part, and sleek sweeping bangs that framed her face beautifully. My hair extension rental service was a great asset for this look.

The final result felt elegant, romantic, and perfectly suited to her stunning winery wedding at 50th Parallel Estate Winery overlooking Okanagan Lake.

Katy’s Chic Rooftop Wedding

As a fellow Brit, Katy and I instantly clicked during her bridal trial.

She visited my cozy Kelowna beauty studio before her wedding, and together we designed a look that balanced glamour with personality.

Her makeup featured luminous, flawless skin, warm brown eyeshadow blended seamlessly through the crease, soft lashes for definition, and a bold red lip that perfectly complemented her confident style.

Her hair was every bit as unique as she is. We embraced her beautiful hair colour and created textured beach waves with plenty of volume, incorporating a chunky braid that added dimension and personality while maintaining a modern bridal feel.

The intimate rooftop setting at Perch Sky Lounge provided the perfect backdrop for such a stylish celebration.

Michelle’s Cove Resort Wedding

Sometimes the stars align perfectly.

Michelle managed to squeeze in her bridal trial while I was still living in Vancouver, just before my family’s move to the Okanagan. That timing allowed us to build a plan well in advance and ensured her wedding morning felt relaxed and seamless.

Michelle was looked after by two Master-level artists from Faye Smith Agency. Senior Master Stylist Kym created her makeup while I focused on hairstyling.

For hair, we chose soft brushed-out Hollywood waves with beautiful volume and movement. The style felt timeless, glamorous, and effortlessly elegant.

Her makeup remained soft and natural, enhancing her features without feeling overly done. The finished look perfectly complemented the relaxed luxury atmosphere of The Cove Lakeside Resort, one of West Kelowna’s most popular wedding venues.

Jeanne’s wedding holds a special place in my heart because it highlights exactly why I wanted to announce my move to Kelowna through local bridal communities.

After seeing one of my posts in Kelowna wedding Facebook groups, Jeanne reached out because she was looking for an experienced artist who was comfortable working with all skin tones, hair textures, ages, and cultural backgrounds.

With nearly 18 years in the beauty industry, diversity has always been an important part of my work.
